Do you have a cat? Ever had a cat? Did you ever bathe it? One of my cats, Emma, smells to high heaven. I swear...she stinks! She tried to lay on my chest today, and well I just couldn't stand it. She is sitting next to me now licking herself. I don't think her self-bathing is doing the trick. I've tried to bathe her in the past, but it's always such an ordeal...So, here's the skinny- I need tips. Do you wash the cat in the sink or the tub? Do you use baby shampoo? Pet shampoo? Do you have two people rather than just yourself doing the dirty work? Ideas welcome!

I have always had cats and some I bathed in the sink and some in the tub.
It kind of depends how much they squirm and stretch out.
Currently I have to use the tub. Lacey really tries to get out and she stretches way out so a sink doesn't work.
Also, the bathroom tub is great cause there is a door, usually.
My suggestion is too make sure the water is really nice and warm.
Sometimes they will calm down if the water feels good.
I had one cat that would lay down in the water as long as it was good and warm.
i've got 2 cats, neither of which is particularly smelly other than their funky breath, but i've bathed cats several times. i like that in a bathroom you can close the door to keep them in, like ruth said, but if your cat's not a big fighter, it's much easier to do it in the kitchen or a utility sink. less back strain. maybe there's a pet shampoo meant to combat stench & not just make the hair pretty.
good luck!
OMG! Get valium from the vet before even thinking about bathing a cat! Give the cat one and you take the other! LOL
Our cat doesn't smell bad that I can tell but then again he doesn't sit on me and we have a giant dog. LOL! I would however never attempt to bathe our cat being as he bites the crap out of me when I pick him up to put him in the basement. I would suggest dry bath wipes. We've used them on ours before. They are basically wet wipes with some perfume. Good luck!
I usually give my cats a bath in the sink so I can use the sprayer.
also, I finally blogged about the swap!
